Bruce is a good camper when it comes to my gardening obsession. Our back entrance was the one exception. The Kiwi Vine, Clematis, and Trumpet Vine that grows in the back can become a bit wild. I’ve heard comments that the vines are alive and going to reach out and snag him. Then on the walkway to make things worse I have tall yellow flowers that grow in July and August that get as tall as a human. Of course as soon as they flower we get hit with a big rain storm and they topple over you when we come in.
So when Bruce decided he needed to be creative to destress for work and build something, I was all for it! He decided his first project would be an arbor. Yeah for me! Now I’m not sure if it was his great love for me and the garden or his pure hatred for the vines that made him decide to work on the arbor but I’ll take what I can get. So for two weekends, Bruce was a garden warrior and tamed the beast of the vine. Next is a matching arbor on the other gateway… Who knows it’s only a matter of time before I have him in the studio. He does have a fine art degree!
We still need to paint the new arbor but I’m sure our kiwi’s will thrive on the new arbor. Here’s some pics during the latest adventure.
