Learning from TED and the FlexHolder
For those of you that do not know about TED and love learning it is important that you continue reading. I had stumbled upon TED a few years back and instantly fell in love with it. Originally created in 1984 as a conference to bring the three worlds of Technology, Entertainment and Design together, TED has grown into three annual conferences bringing together the best minds in the world to talk about what they love. TED believes in “the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world.” When I finally saw the TED app for my iPad I had to have it. Now I can stream talks to my iPad and iPhone and learn wherever I am. Breaking each discipline down and even having the option , through the Inspire Me tab, to choose a group of talks to view based on what time I have available allows me to learn at any time. Whether I have 15 minutes or 2 hours I have the flexibility to learn about 3D printing, the domestication of germs, the impact fungus can have on our lives or Fractals and the Art of Roughness. If you have no clue about any of these things the good news is either do I. However, if I have a few minutes I can just sit down with TED and learn about them. What other wonderful talks can we find?
