I’ve been trying to be healthier. Trying to stay away from sugar and sweet sweet bread. My taste buds have changed to want anything and everything spicy. This popcorn hits the spot. Plus, my doctor told me no microwave popcorn so I’ve even been popping old school over the stove. It does have butter in it but usually by snack time I have calories left over and this hits by taste buds with a whammo.
Truth: I did have this for dinner after a late night of work with a glass of wine. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
- 2 tbls Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup popcorn
- 2 tbls melted buttter sometimes 4 tbls when I need me some butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1-1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 to 1 Tbls Franks Hot Sauce I usually do a full tablespoon up... I leave it up to you on your need for spice
- 2 Tbls Parmesan cheese Grated
Make the popcorn according to your direction. I throw it in a stock pot with the vegetable oil and give it a shake while I get the other ingredients together.
Melt your butter in a microwave. Add Frank's into the Melted Butter. Add dry spices except cheese. Stir it so it's a hot red mess.
Once popcorn has finished popping. Pour the Red Melted Spice love over the popcorn. Shake with the lid on. Throw in your favorite popcorn bowl. Then sprinkle that Parm on top and enjoy. Red Cabernet goes wonderfully with it!
