You’ll soon realize I’m an orchid addict. I dream of having a greenhouse outside on my second floor where I can become an orchid enthusiast.
For now I just have them all through my house. I went flower shopping with my parents and husband this morning. I came home with two more babies. My dad bought me this one… Bllra. Tahoma Glacier ‘Sugar Sweet’. He’s ginormous. I think at the top is 3′ tall. In the sun he looks like he’s dusted with shimmery sugar.
I leave them out all summer and they thrive. Now when I bring them in during the fall that’s another story. Sometimes they rebloom sometimes not and that’s all part of the challenge.
I keep them under my umbrella and out on my front porch during the summer. Away from direct light. I think our humid summers make the orchids happy.
I got mine at Mike’s Nursery on Fairmount Ave in Lakewood. I’ll share my most favorite with you in a couple more days.
