Sometimes it’s imperative that you disconnect from everyday life especially when you have calls, texts, emails, IMs at all hours. For our 10th anniversary, we headed for Cook Forest, PA where internet connection and cell phone service was sketchy at best. The only time I logged on was to upload pics on social media when we were in the room. Nature always settles me and let’s me take a breather. I mean you know I might have a little going on… numerous projects, selling our house, buying a house, moving the studio and you know the everyday stresses that we all handle. Vacations… Sigh I’m ready to return.
So if you’re sitting at your desk and need a moment of sanity… take a deep breathe and enjoy the pictures of our first trek to the fire tower. OK I’ll be honest… I haven’t climbed this trail since I was in college. It’s a straight vertical incline. I’m pretty sure it would have taken me the whole vacation to get to the top. When I was seven my parents took me up this and they still make fun of me when I said “I can’t breathe.” Maybe one day if my leg heals completely I’ll attempt it… but yeah we took the car up the drive and parked and walked the rest of the way. It was a nice little side trip while our rooms were getting ready.
I have a thing… a sure love crush for trees that grow on rocks
There were two Mounatian Laurels still blooming. They always bloom around my mom’s birthday in the beginning of July.
Behold husband in nature…..
A perfect reason why I need to live in the country. Wouldn’t you love to have big rocks in your backyard. I’m ready to book another stay in October to see all the colors that autumn brings.
