The halls lined to my doctor’s office is like a walk through history. They have numerous old photos of Jamestown lining the walls. I’ve been on a search for an old photo or map for our living room. When I came back to the office an email was awaiting for me in my inbox. Kismet perhaps. . . The NY Public library just made available 170,000 images to download and are in the public domain. I did a search and I found the old Jamestown Business Directory of 1867.
The Original Artwork
A little “Tint” added a jolt to give it some life.
Perfect all by itself definitely but I felt it needed a little bit of breathe put into it. So I add the dates and The Pearl City title. I was just going to color in the blue of the Chautauqua Outlet which took about two hours in itself. I showed Bruce and said what do you think should I boost the roads a bit too. I did a section and well yes it was a definate the roads need a boost.
I love breathing new life into old pieces just a bit. I’m either going to get a print for the wall o wood in the living room or I’m really getting pulled to put it in our game/bar room behind some floating shelves we plan to put up behind the bar. Since, I have about six hours into the work I thought perhaps some of you may also want the piece. So enjoy. . . I put it on a few pieces below.
