In January, we painted the room a Khaki color. My friend Erin came over and helped us and we were finished within an hour. I tore the wallpaper off during new years eve. It was the best thing ever. Just picked a corner and it peeled off in big long sheets. Now if only all the other rooms were like that I’ld be the happiest girl in the world
Action shot of Bruce… moves so quick he’s just a blur!
If you know me… I needed more than Khaki to go on the walls.
HMMMM How about some big ole pieces of pine planks. YES! PLEASE.
Bruce asked me if I wanted them finished. No. Are you sure? Yes!
I love that Bruce goes along with my ideas. He’s the sweetest!
I wanted texture. Who wants just a plain khaki wall not me! I’m not saying I may not stain the wood or maybe paint it a white color later on in a few years. For right now rough natural pine planks spoke to me. There was some trepidation. Which is why the wall was painted khaki behind it. I should have painted it a dark color so it looked like shadows behind the wall but I was a wee bit chicken. In case I didn’t like it I had the option of taking it down. The light color doesn’t bother me though.
The pine came from Bruce’s dad. He has a little sawmill and these planks were sitting there for over 20 years.
Now get ready for and Behold the Wall of Wood……
Now we need some molding on top, touch up floors, new couch. . . Yeah the list never ends.
PS. The best part is the wall of wood smells great.
PSS. Do you see the bathroom wall taunting me. Finish stripping me… I want to be painted. SOON!
