Sometimes, I guess I get a little bit off balance… Like when I decide to start painting kitchen cabinets right before we’re having two parties. Yes, of course brilliant idea. I just get these urges. So earlier in the month I decided sure why not? Actually, it was Labor Day weekend. While the rest of you enjoyed a weekend of leisure I was covered in paint.
If you haven’t given your knobs a thorough cleaning in awhile it’s well worth the time. The first thing everyone always comments is ohhh you got new hardware. Nope… Just good ole elbow grease. I filled a mason jar with warm dishwater soap and let them soak while I painted. My break was sitting down and cleaning a handful at a time.
And no we’re not replacing the sink. Number one it’s made locally. It’s vintage and in wonderful shape. I wouldn’t want any other sink if I had a choice. One of my “friends” on social media decided to share how much she hated hers and it was this color. Ahh social media we love you so.
My mom took pity upon me and came over and helped me with my painting fiasco. I had t-minus three days before the networking events. She actually did the sink for us. It’s the Williamsburg Wythe Color. Staying true and sticking to our color palette so far.
There’s talk about putting in some glass in the cabinet doors or taking a section out for open shelving. The project continues but is on hold until my back decides to behave itself once again. I mustn’t forget the wallpaper too. 2015 the year of the wallpaper struggle.
