I keep forgetting to post this recipe. I made it for our Labor Day picnic. I made one in an Italian loaf and the other in the garlic loaf… I say only use the garlic loaf. The other one was just bland and blah. It was a nice warm appetizer for our cold Labor Day.
Wine and Shroom Bread
- 16 oz Mixed Mushrooms Sliced
- 8 tbsp Butter
- 3/4 cup Dry White Wine
- 2 tsp Dried Thyme
- 4 cloves garlic Minced
- 12 oz Swiss Cheese Grated
- 3 Green Onions Finely Diced
- 1 loaf Garlic Bread
Preheat over to 250 degrees
Brown butter and mushrooms till mushrooms are cooked through. Then add the wine. Simmer
Cube your bread without cutting through the bottom of the bread. Scoop mushroom mixture into the slices of the bread.
Then push the slices of swiss cheese into the bread.
Bake for 20 minutes or until your cheese melts. Sprinkle with green onions.
